High altitude areas in southern China, such as Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, have created favorable conditions for the occurrence of crop diseases and insect pests due to the abundant rainfall, mild climate and large temperature changes. It is also very difficult to control diseases and insect pests because of the high altitude. The operation test of Quanfeng UAV in high altitude area of Yunnan province for half a month shows that UAV has unique advantages in controlling plant diseases and pests at high altitude.

A trip to Chu Orange Manor

On January 20, 2015, Xue Hong, assistant chairman of Anyang Quanfeng Aeronautical Plant Protection Technology Co., Ltd., and his delegation came to Gasa Town, Xinping, Yunnan Province, and jointly opened with Dr. Liao Juan and Mr. Chen Shengde, two experts in the field of agricultural aviation of South China Agricultural University (who had participated in the aerial spraying experiments of cotton in Xinjiang, rice and orange in Guangdong). The load test of agricultural UAV at high altitude and the droplet settling experiment of orange at high altitude were carried out. The effects of flight speed and altitude, as well as nozzle flow rate on droplet settling were tested. The successful completion of the experiment provides valuable experimental data for the operation of domestic agricultural UAVs in high altitude areas, and lays a foundation for the application of agricultural UAVs in high altitude areas.

After the experiment, some farmers expressed their hope that the UAV team of Quanfeng in Anyang would give them medicine.

[3] Yuanmou County, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province

On the morning of January 26, 2015, Xue Hong, assistant chairman of Anyang Quanfeng Aviation Plant Protection Technology Co., Ltd., together with Yuanmou County, Yunnan Province, Winter Early Quality Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative, were in Laocheng Village, Yuanmou County, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province, and the base of Yunnan Nongxia Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. to test the droplet settling experiment of agricultural UAVs on grapes at an altitude of 1300 meters. The QF-125 UAV was successfully tested on grapes at high altitude, which was approved by local cooperatives and promoted the development of Agricultural Mechanization in China.

[4] Binchuan County, Dali City, Yunnan Province

On January 29, 2015, Xue Hong, assistant chairman of Anyang Quanfeng, and a group of people came to the end of the load test of UAV at high altitude in Yunnan Province and the experiment of droplet deposition of UAV operation on main crops in Yunnan Province. The last stop was in Binchuan County, Dali, Yunnan Province, where they did the droplet deposition experiment of rapeseed, and the local leaders came to the scene for guidance, indicating that rapeseed flower was in the end. It is one of the main crops in the region. Because it is spring all the year round and has to take more than a dozen medicines in one year, but because it is located in the plateau area, the terrain is complex and the labor cost is high, the introduction of agricultural UAVs in the region will certainly liberate the labor force, reduce the cost of applying medicines and be favored by local farmers.
